In the 2013-2014 fiscal year, it was mentioned in Forbes Magazine that social advertising is the procedure of promoting products and services through social networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and others. It is not as simple as you may think and involves a lot of ins and outs. In 2015, restaurant businesses are creating social media accounts in order to sell their products and services.
There are about 82% of companies that create the error of hiring a novice to sustain their social media campaigns. Believing them to grip your social media campaigns can seriously delay your chances of making sales through social media.
There are many do's and don'ts that one should consider when trying to generate a lead in social media sales. In my last article, "Top 3 Reasons Why Social Media Marketing Campaigns Fail" discussed the things you should not do if you want social selling to occur. Here in this write up, it talks about the things one should do to make a sale through social networking platforms. Let us have a look at them.
Build Relationships First
This point is one of the most important things that you should focus on. Without building relationships, it will be 100% difficult for you to make a sale of your restaurant business. While building the relationship with your prospects through social networking sites, don't even think about selling something to them. Just spend time with your prospects, communicate with them and show your friendship.
Listening to what your prospects are saying online is very important. Use social media monitoring software to do this. If you want, you can also monitor the social feeds of your prospects. You should engage when you feel compelled. Contribute useful information and comments to the conversation rather than broadcasting your sales message.
Find out Problems and Solutions
When you listen carefully, you may find that your prospects are talking about something they need or a problem they need to solve. Sometimes you may find that the thing they are looking for is offered by you. Now that's the opportunity you should make the best use of!
Make sure to engage the prospect or follower further in a conversation. With the right treatment, this action will lead to a sale. It is always good to show your expertise and willingness to help. You can do this by using great content and showing great care from your end for your prospect. Your approach shouldn't be like you are selling something to someone, but rather helping someone out with their problems that you have uncovered online.
Ask for a Sale
You may have heard before now: "don't ask for a sale because social selling is about listening and conversation". This is true, but it is only applicable in the early stage of the sale process. At the end, it is important to ask for a sale. If you don't ask for it, you won't get it.
